In my late twenties much more hair was coming out in the shower. I paid $250 to hair loss doctor only to discover that he was skeptical that I was losing my hair at all (BTW goto a female doctor if you have this problem and are female). I don't have a family history of hair loss, my dad still has a full head of hair, so I attributed it to stress. Then I found somewhere here on Amazon under a review for a hair growth shampoo a recommendation for vitamin D. (How did we survive before the internet?) Of course! In the African continent many people have kinky, "nappy," hair probably to allow the sweat to drip easier down the scalp and evaporate quicker. Those in the northern, snowy climates have straighter, thin hair which lays on the scalp, providing added insulation. I am Scandinavian, black, and Native American so I have a lot of thick, dry hair that gets oily at the scalp because I keep it very long. With the vitamin D deficiency, my body probably thinks I now live in a northern climate so I don't need as much of this dry hair. So now I take vitamin D and, voila, the amount I loose in the shower is reduced significantly. Read Less
